Who We Are

Pixel8 Multimedia is a UK-based wall art brand. Our website address is https://pixel8multimedia.co.uk. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal data responsibly.

What Data We Collect

When you place an order or contact us, we may collect the following information:

Your name, email address, shipping address, phone number (if provided), payment information (processed securely by Stripe — we do not store card details), photographs you upload for personalised orders, and any messages or instructions you provide.

How We Use Your Data

We use your personal data to process and fulfil your orders, send order confirmations and dispatch notifications, create personalised artwork based on photos you provide, respond to your enquiries, improve our website and services, and send marketing emails (only if you've opted in via our newsletter). We will never sell your personal data to third parties.

Payment Processing

All payments are processed securely through Stripe. We do not store or have access to your full card details. Stripe's privacy policy can be found at stripe.com/privacy.

Photos & Personalised Orders

When you upload a photo for a personalised order, it is stored securely and used solely to create your artwork. We will never use your photo or your design in our marketing without your explicit consent.

What happens to your photo

When you use our Your Photo, Your Style tool, the photo you upload is sent to Google's Gemini image model, which redraws it in the style you choose. This happens only after you tick the consent box, and only for the design you asked for.

We do not use your photo to train any AI model. We do not use facial recognition or build a biometric profile of anyone in your photo. We do not sell your photo or share it with anyone beyond the providers listed below.

What we store, and for how long

  • Your cropped photo and the designs made from it — held in private storage provided by our hosting provider, never on the public website.
  • If you don't place an order: everything is deleted automatically after 48 hours.
  • If you do place an order: we keep your photo, your design and the print file while we make and send your order, and for 90 days after it is printed in case there is a problem with it. They are then deleted automatically.
  • A record that you gave consent, with the date and the wording you agreed to, as proof that we had permission to process your photo.
  • A scrambled version of your IP address. We never store the address itself. The scrambled version is used only to prevent one person generating thousands of designs and running up our costs.

Who else is involved

  • Google (Gemini API) — creates the design from your photo. Google acts as our processor and, under the paid API terms we use, does not use your photo to train its models.
  • Netlify — hosts our website and stores your photo and design securely.
  • Stripe — processes your payment. Your photo is never sent to Stripe.
  • Resend — sends your proof email, which includes a copy of your design.

Our lawful basis

We rely on your consent to send your photo to Google's image model — that is what the tick box is for. You can withdraw consent at any time by contacting us, and we will delete your photo and designs. Once you have placed an order we rely on performance of a contract to keep what we need in order to make and send your print.

Using your own photos

Please only upload photos you took or own, and only where everyone shown in them is happy to appear on a printed product. Please do not upload photos of other people's children. Our image provider automatically refuses photos of well-known people, film and television stills, and other copyrighted images.

Cookies

We do not use advertising cookies. Apart from the optional analytics cookies described below, we only store what the site needs to work:

  • Your cookie choice — whether you accepted or rejected analytics cookies is kept in your browser's local storage (p8-consent) so we don't ask on every page.
  • Your shopping cart — kept in your browser's local storage (pixel8-cart-v1) so it survives moving between pages. It never leaves your device until you check out.
  • Groupon voucher claim — if you redeem a Groupon voucher, a cookie (p8_groupon_claim) holds the claim until checkout so the credit is applied, and is deleted once your order is complete.
  • Spam protection — our contact, newsletter, photo upload and commission forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to check you are not a bot. It loads only on pages with one of those forms, and for the newsletter signup only once you start filling it in. Cloudflare may set a strictly necessary cookie when the check runs.
  • Payments — checkout happens on Stripe's own pages, which set their own cookies for fraud prevention under Stripe's privacy policy.

These are all strictly necessary, so they don't need your consent. Videos on our service pages load from YouTube only when you press play; YouTube may set cookies once a video is playing.

Analytics Cookies

With your permission, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors find and use our site — which pages are viewed, which products are looked at and added to the cart, and when an order is placed — so we can improve the shop. Nothing is loaded from Google, and no analytics cookies are set, unless you press "Accept" on our cookie banner.

  • Cookies set: _ga and _ga_<id>, which hold a random identifier for your browser. They last up to 2 years.
  • Orders: if you have accepted, that random identifier and the identifier of your current visit are passed to Stripe with your order so we can record the purchase (order reference, items and value) in Google Analytics. Your name, email address and delivery address are never sent to Google.
  • Who receives it: Google, as our processor, under Google's privacy policy. We do not use Google Analytics for advertising, and Google's advertising features are switched off.
  • Our lawful basis: your consent. You can change your mind at any time from (also at the bottom of every page). If you reject after accepting, we stop collecting and delete the analytics cookies from your browser.

Your Rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, request correction or deletion of your data, object to processing of your data, and request a copy of your data in a portable format. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us via our contact page.
